Call for Artists – Black History Exhibition @ ESC Metropolitan Center’s Livingston Gallery


“The Elephant in my Living Room” by artist Michelle Laverne Bossier was displayed at the Livingston Gallery for the “Immigrants: Reinventing America” exhibition.

In honor of Black History Month, the Empire State College Metropolitan Center will host another wonderful art exhibition. The show’s theme is Reflecting the Past, Living the Present, Envisioning the Future , and it is open to artists of all ethnic and social backgrounds.   Artists will have an opportunity to share their vision of celebrating Black History Month.  The works will be on display at the Brooklyn unit’s Livingston Gallery. These shows tend to be lively events with attendees from the surrounding community and Empire State College.

There is presently a call for artists.  The deadline to submit artwork is December 16, 2014. Artist submissions should be:

  • wall-hung, two-dimensional media;
  • 4 – 6 small jpeg images of artwork with a description of each work’s medium and dimensions;
  • include a one-page statement by the artist, and
  • be emailed to curator Raul Manzano at by the December 16th Deadline.
